

United Nations NGO
As members of the International Presentation Association (IPA), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), we hold special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the United Nations. IPA is also associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI).
Fatima Rodrigo PBVM from India functions as full-time IPA NGO representative based in New York. Her work involves attending and participating in United Nations meetings following our focus areas.
Special Sessions regarding critical issues affecting part or all of the global community include:
- Rio+20 - June 2012
- Permanent Indigenous Forum - May 2012
- Special Session on Children - May 2002
- AIDS/HIV Session - June 2001
Other UN meetings include those of the Human Rights Commission which are usually held in Geneva on such issues as:
- Rights of children
- Religious tolerance
- Refugees
