Conference of Presentation Sisters
Begun in August, 1953, under the title of the "North American Conference", the Conference of Presentation Sisters of North America collaborates and communicates on issues of ministry, spirituality, and social justice.
The Conference now includes eight communities guided by an executive team. Conference leaders meet annually to advance the direction of Presentation activities and projects.
Lantern Light, Inc., a collaborative ministry project in New Orleans, LA, examples the fruit of The Conference. For more information, visit: www.lanternlight.org
"Convergence: Walking One"
While the leadership teams of the eight congregations met regularly, the first gathering of general members and associates occurred in 2006.
Converging to share their roots and focus on further collaborative actions, nearly 100 Dubuque Presentation sisters and associates gathered with more than 400 North American Presentation sisters and associates at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN for a four-day celebration.
The theme of Convergence, "Walking One," expressed the hope held by the Conference for unity in advancing the mission and vision of Presentation foundress, Nano Nagle.
The Convergence provided an opportunity for Presentation women and men to: remember their heritage, celebrate their stories, build relationships and plan future projects.
