For Whom the Bells Toll

We participate in the program For Whom The Bells Toll that
engages religious communities throughout the country in a
public display of protest against state-sanctioned murder.
On the date of an execution, we toll our convent bells at
6:00 p.m. for 2 minutes.

We believe that all life is sacred and is to be protected,
regardless of innocence or past guilt. The sanction of
death, when it is not necessary to protect society,
violates respect for human life and dignity. State
sanctioned killing in our names diminishes all of us. Its
application is deeply flawed and can be irreversibly wrong,
is prone to errors, and is biased by and where the crime
was committed. We have other ways to punish criminals
and protect society.

are currently praying for click here.
