Mount Loretto & Beyond

Presentation Day: L to R: As part of the Presentation Day festivities, Sisters Agnes Marie Lynch, Dolores Moes and Michael Rottinghaus play a game of Triominos. November 21, Presentation Day, celebrates the liturgical feast of the Presentation of Mary in the Temple and the naming of the congregation in 1791.

Celebrating 75 Years: On November 9, Sister Cyrilla Kernan celebrated 75 years of religious life. The day was full of celebrations and blessings. Sister Cyrilla is pictured with Beth Weipert, CNA.

Christmas Blessings
This issue of the Mount Loretto Bulletin is our annual Christmas greeting
to you. With it we wish you the most blessed and holy Christmas. The funds that would usually be spent on Christmas cards will be contributed to Teresa Shelter, a safe haven for women and children needing emergency housing in Dubuque.

On any given night in Iowa there are approximately 21,280 Iowans
without homes – 61 per cent being single women with children.

The Teresa Shelter is named after Mother Teresa who did so much for the homeless in India. Mother Teresa often admonished those who praised her work by saying, “You need to do the same in your own communities!”
