4th Reweaving Gathering for Sisters and Former Members
by Janet Stelken, PBVM
July 21, 2007 marked the fourth Reweaving Gathering for Presentation sisters and former members who gathered to renew relationships, deepen friendships and to share the happenings in their lives over the years. It is always a very meaningful event for both sisters and those friends who have journeyed with the Presentation sisters for a time. Some walked with the community for several years and others for perhaps only a few months, but no matter the time, the ties remain. It is a blessing to be able to reconnect once again. As former members arrived at Mount Loretto they were met with a huge welcome, which opened the avenues for reminiscing immediately. Sister Joy Peterson, congregational leader, addressed the group assuring all present of how each have added to the richness of one another’s lives and how good it is to come together.
During the afternoon, in addition to continuing conversation and “catching up with friends,” four different informational sessions on the happenings in Presentation. Later, the group gathered in the Sacred Heart Chapel to celebrate liturgy followed by dinner and continued sharing of stories past and present.
The time seemed to fly by as each tried to visit with as many people as possible and to fill in the story of their lives these past years. Once again, it was good to be together to affirm and encourage one another as each live out their mission to bring about the Kingdom of God in their little part of the world. Bidding one another farewell, every one was already looking forward to the next Re-weaving Gathering.
