• Sister Joan Brincks, Vicki Ries and Newman Catholic first-graders received the Friend of Lime Creek Nature Center Award on Tuesday, March 6 in Mason City, IA. The first-graders participate in the “Garbage Busters” program and have won six trophies over the past years for bringing the least amount of garbage in their lunches as they enjoy their fieldtrip to the nature center.• Congratulations to Sister Jean Ann Meyer who was given the Okolona, MS, Chamber of Commerce Philanthropic Award on March 8. This was a surprise for Sister Jean Ann so it was an especially good evening. Sisters Sharon Kelchen and Lisa Schmidt attended the banquet with Sister Jean Ann.
• Sister Dolores Zieser gave a short talk on “Pastoral Ministry and the Elderly” for the Interfaith Celebration at the annual Minnesota Health & Housing for the Aged Convention in Minneapolis in February.
• Sister Josita Zieser will be included in the 2006/2007 Cambridge Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women “Honors Edition” of the registry. This registry will include biographies of our country’s most accomplised women. Inclusion is considered by many as the single highest mark of achievement.• The Sisters of the Presentation were invited to the rededication ceremony of St. Mary Parish in Storm Lake, IA, on March 11. The parish honored the sisters whose presence over the years has strengthened the faith of the parish and church from generation to generation.
