Action Steps Toward a Positive Change

As a community we have taken some positive steps toward fostering
Ecological Sustainability which include:

Support a Presentation NGO at United Nations to promote
the cancellation of the third world debt

Publish a monthly Justice Newsletter:
Stand Together and Spend Yourself for the Poor

Initiate community education: speaker on Ecospiritualty,
monthly “tips” on become more Earth friendly

Coordinate and plan with civic and religious communities
in Dubuque to promote good ecological practices

Partner with Coalition of Churches for Land and People (CCLP)
to foster organic farming practices

Install geo-thermal heating and air-conditioning in a house on motherhouse property

Motherhouse:
· Compost leaves
· Compost from motherhouse kitchen
· Organize study groups on the Earth Charter
· Purchase “green” cleaning products
· Purchase hybrid cars & earth friendly washer and dryer
· Sponsor several speakers whose topics include the principles
  of the Earth Charter
· Sell Fair Trade Coffee & Chocolate in the motherhouse gift shop
