Inquiry:
The woman makes contact with the vocation director via letter or phone
stating her interest in religious life and the conversation is started.
The vocation director meets with the woman to give information regarding
the community, helpful discernment techniques, ways to connect, etc.,
and answers any questions she might have.
Affiliate:
A local community is appointed to serve as the sponsoring community for
the affiliate as well as a contact sister. The affiliate meets with both
the sponsoring community and the contact sister monthly to discuss various
topics related to religious life.
Candidate:
The candidate year is a year filled with firsts: first time living in
a Presentation community, connecting ministry with Presentation mission,
connection with other candidates in the Iowa/Wisconsin prenovitiate process,
and meeting with the formation director.
Canonical
Novice:
Year set aside to discuss the vows, prayers, study of theology and current
Church issues, etc. This is a year of intense reflection and discernment.
Apostolic
Novice:
Here learning is experiential as well as book knowledge. The woman moves
out in ministry to experience as fully as possible what is meant by being
servant, leader, friend… At this stage one of the main learnings might
be that of balancing community, prayer, ministry, family and friends.
Temporary
Vows:
Expression of the intention to continue in a commitment of faith until
final vows.
Final
Vows:
Permanent commitment to community is celebrated via a special ceremony
